The Duli Visitor Center serves as the headquarters of the East Coast National Scenic Area Administration Office and is adjacent to the Amis Ethnic Cultural Center. Located with mountains to the back and the ocean in front, the Duli Visitor Center looks north to Success Town and Sanxiantai and south to Green Island, offering a beautiful blend of mountain and sea scenery that uniquely represents the East Coast’s character. This location has long been a venue for the "Moonlight and Sea Concert." The visitor center itself is very suitable for family activities. The expansive outdoor grassland features artworks from the annual Land Art Festival arranged thoughtfully, and against the backdrop of green hills and the ocean, this space is not only ideal for relaxing in the leisurely atmosphere of Taitung but also a great area for picnics to enjoy the East Coast’s captivating scenery. If visitors arrive during the "Moonlight and Sea Concert," they can further enjoy the evening by sitting on the grasslands, accompanied by seashore moonlight and listening to beautiful music. The exhibition currently at the visitor center is curated by the contemporary artist Lakazi Darli of the Hualien Port Community. Titled "Traveling in a 50-Step Space," the exhibition presents works created using diverse materials—paintings, sculptures, installations, and visual media—inspired by Lakazi’s long-term process of collecting ocean-worn debris along the East Coast. Through interactive artworks combining light and sound, the exhibition conveys reflections on global environmental issues and caring for our planet, transforming the Duli Visitor Center into a space rich in environmental and cultural educational significance. Everyone is welcome to visit the Duli Visitor Center. For details, please contact: 089-841520 (Visitor Center Service Desk, extension 1800). At the first floor of the Duli Visitor Center, a brand-new immersive area was inaugurated in December 2024. This new exhibition combines digital technology and local culture, themed as the "Eastern Seacoast Storybook." Through projections and interactive installations blending the physical and virtual, it guides visitors to explore Amis myths, natural ecosystems, and cultural values. By cleverly utilizing technology, the exhibition enhances the fun of learning, perfectly merging education and entertainment, allowing participants to deeply experience the wisdom of coastal mountain-and-sea life. The exhibition revives Amis legends through artistic forms, enabling visitors to profoundly sense the deep roots of its cultural heritage and the captivating charm of life stories. Students concentrate on exploring interactive installations and visual scenery, fully appreciating the depth and beauty of local culture. This renews and enlivens the Duli Visitor Center, symbolizing the continued transmission of East Coast culture and spirit.
