The over 100-year-old banyan tree in Liu-cuo Village, Chiayi City, is estimated to be around 200 years old. It is located near the Liu-cuo Village Public Cemetery and is revered as the old banyan tree of Wan-ling-gong. The tree's natural shape resembles a large umbrella. Currently, the Wan-ling-gong Temple is thriving, with a steady stream of people burning incense and worshiping. The temple is believed to grant wishes, and in the winter of 1977, the Wan-ling-gong Temple Management Committee was established, with Mr. Chen Jin-zhong as the chairman. The committee actively raised funds and organized the environment, rebuilding the area with an octagonal pavilion, fish pond, Long Spring Club, and paved roads. Volunteers also help with maintenance and services. The old banyan tree's surroundings have been transformed, and former Mayor Chang Po-ya visited and sealed the tree as the "Zhuo Luo Bird Banyan King." The Zhuo Luo Bird Banyan King is very impressive, with a crown area of over 1,000 square meters. Its side branches stand upright and straight, supporting the main trunk as it continues to grow. Under the care of the government and residents, the tree has flourished, creating a shaded area and providing playground equipment for children. This makes it a great spot for people of all ages to enjoy.
