For those who helped build the church, the church would give them a small plaque to hang in front of their homes. On the morning of 28 December 1997, a major fire occurred in the village, and the church was affected. After more than three years of efforts to rebuild, a new church was built, but the old church scarred by the fire was intentionally preserved. Firstly, after the fire, it has a unique aesthetic. Moreover, it is also the history of the village. Secondly, keeping it can let the villagers to use it as a memory and a lesson.
