The North Coast and Guanyinshan National Scenic Area was established on February 20, 2001; integrating the North Coast, Yehliu, and Guanyinshan three provincial scenic areas, and the management office was set up on July 22, 2002. The area includes the "North Coast Region" which belongs to four administrative districts in New Taipei City: Sanzhi, Shimen, Jinshan, and Wanli, and the "Guanyinshan Region" which belongs to two administrative districts in New Taipei City: Wugu and Bali. The area has rich tourism resources, with the North Coast coastal highway surrounded by lush green mountains and deep blue seas, and numerous scenic spots and recreational facilities along the way. Famous scenic areas such as Baishawan, Lingshan Nose, Fugui Cape Park, Shimentan, Jinshan, Yehliu, and Emerald Bay are distributed in a strip-like pattern. It also has rich and diverse artistic and cultural resources, such as the Li Tianlu Shadow Puppet Museum and the Zhu Ming Art Museum.
The Yehliu Geopark is famous for its "Queen's Head" and "Fairy's Shoe", with vivid shapes, as well as the single-sided mountain formed by the pushing of the Eurasian and Philippine plates, which makes people marvel at the magic of nature's craftsmanship. The sea-eroded platform has a tidal zone and a paradise for seasonal migratory birds. Guanyinshan's beautiful scenery can be seen from the top of Yingshanling, where the meandering Tamsui River flows into the sea day and night, and the vibrant scenery of the Taipei Basin can be seen at a glance.
Along the way, the beautiful scenery and the characteristic of Guanyinshan's high point can be used to plan 6 hiking trails, which can be divided into Fulong Mountain, Niugang Ridge, Yingshanling, Jianshan, Fengting Douhu, and Niuliao Bu Mountain Trail. Among them, Yingshanling is the highest point of Guanyinshan, with an elevation of about 616 meters, and the trail is divided into main line and auxiliary line (Fengting Douhu Trail). The main line starts from the Lingyun Chan Temple and leads to Yingshanling; the auxiliary line (Fengting Douhu Trail) starts from the back of the Guanyinshan Visitor Center, although the journey is shorter, the slope is steeper, testing whether you have a strong physique. After reaching Yingshanling, the view becomes broad and open. Each trail has its own unique characteristics and is equipped with complete wooden plank roads and guidance signs, hoping to make Guanyinshan's beautiful scenery more detailed and elegant when visitors stroll around.
Looking at the fishing boats coming and going from the pier on the other side, looking at the lights of thousands of homes intertwined like a sea of lights, it is only then that we realize that Guanyinshan's night can be so beautiful!
