The Grand Physician Guan De Temple at Shih-Hu Chan-Tian Palace worships Guan Sheng Emperor. Since the Qing Dynasty through the Japanese occupation to the present day, it has eradicated opium, quelled epidemics, cured countless illnesses, and its miracles are endlessly recounted. It is the pilgrimage center for Guan Gong worship in Taiwan. Inside the temple is a Japanese-style mikoshi (portable shrine) used for the deities of Beigang Shrine.
