The Rail Vision Gallery in Taoyuan is built on an architectural site originally constructed as an old railway warehouse in 1936. The structure features a unique Japanese-Western hybrid architectural style and was designated as a historical building in 2016. After restoration and reuse, it was transformed into the Rail Vision Gallery, focusing on the vision of Taoyuan's railway undergroundization and metro system development. The gallery integrates tourism, education, and cultural exhibition functions. The ground floor includes zones for history, technology, vision, and multimedia interactive activities. The second floor houses a transportation library, allowing visitors to experience Taoyuan's rail development history through diverse exhibits. The total site area of the Rail Vision Gallery spans approximately 1,735 square meters, with the main building covering about 722 square meters. Exhibits introduce Taoyuan's early light rail systems, such as the light rail line built by the Dakkaikeng Light Rail Co., Ltd. from Taoyuan's Boai Road via Jieshou Road to Daxi. The current metro brown line follows the route of the former light rail between Taoyuan and Xinzhuang. Additional historical displays also showcase the entire railway system of Taiwan. The gallery displays an original prototype of Taoyuan Station and a one-to-one, wooden model of the old Taoyuan station constructed from historical photographs, showcasing the elegance and uniqueness of the traditional Taoyuan train station. Interactive experiences such as a train engineer simulator, modular city construction, a rail theater, and other engaging activities are offered. Visitors can ride a mini-train to explore Taoyuan's planned six future rail transportation systems, gaining a deeper understanding of Taoyuan's rail development.
