The Hakka Earth Building cluster distributed in Fujian is a unique large-scale dwelling that is unparalleled in the world. It is a treasure of traditional Chinese dwellings and has been listed as a World Cultural Heritage. It has become a recognized architectural representation of Hakka culture, and seeing the earth building can immediately bring to mind the Hakka people. The "Hakka Round Building" with its unique造型, in addition to showcasing the distinctive characteristics of Hakka culture in Miaoli, also combines the beautiful landscape of the waterfront corridor, which is a result of the improvement of the Beishi Stream. This makes Miaoli a bright and beautiful city and presents the local refined artistic features. The Hakka Round Building is located near the Miaoli High-Speed Rail Station and is the most vibrant area of the entire waterfront corridor, making it the "heart of Beishi Stream". Its architectural form is modeled after the earth buildings in the ancestral homeland on the mainland, with a strong Hakka flavor. It also features a ring-shaped pool walkway, an observation deck with a curved platform, an entrance welcome plaza, and a waterfront promenade, among other rich recreational facilities. The Hakka Round Building covers an area of 1,385 square meters and has a total floor area of 3,476 square meters. It has a structure of one underground floor and three above-ground floors, with a circular building structure that can be seen from the air. The planning direction of the Hakka Round Building is centered on local Hakka culture, and Miaoli is a major hub for Hakka music and opera development. Therefore, it is positioned as a theme venue for Hakka opera and music, with related performances and activities, and invites performance groups to participate. The main first floor of the Hakka Round Building is a circular performance theater with a large Hakka opera stage, decorated with lanterns and surrounded by simple wooden benches for the audience. The second floor is mainly an exhibition space, featuring the "Hakka Opera Museum", "Hakka Music Museum", and "Urban Cultural Exchange Exhibition", which are static exhibitions. The third floor has a DIY workshop and a multimedia interactive zone, where visitors can use virtual technology to take photos with famous landmarks and buildings in Miaoli. The underground floor has a multimedia screening room that plays related videos. To provide more diverse services, the Hakka Round Building also has a restaurant and a souvenir shop, offering Hakka-style and local creative products, allowing visitors to experience the authentic local flavor of Miaoli. Around the Hakka Round Building, there are also nighttime lighting facilities. After sunset, the Hakka Round Building is illuminated, and the landscape water pond reflects the moon, creating a romantic ambiance different from the daytime. Additionally, on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 7, 8, and 9 pm, there are water dance performances on the waterfront corridor near the Hakka Round Building, which complement the Hakka Round Building and make the night around the high-speed rail station more dazzling and charming.
