Sanchiu Coffee

2025-07-25
Three sisters—Sanqiu Coffee’s trio—returned to their hometown to be with their parents and decided to open a small shop together. Mei, the eldest, had lived abroad for years and excels at desserts; she brought her Thai husband back to Taiwan and wants to bring the easy-going vibe she felt in Thailand to Chiayi. Sanqiu Coffee is filled with Thai touches: Thai songs play in the background, a cabinet displays Thai creative goods, and the menu folds in Thai flavors. After countless tests, pastry chef Mei perfected a gluten-free black-rice coffee that suits Taiwanese palates and is safe for the gluten-intolerant; since its launch it has steadily grown in popularity. The “Thai Tea Coffee” series keeps the authentic preparation but uses a reduced-sugar, health-conscious recipe, pairing it with house-blend beans brewed cup by cup, so you taste the rich Thai tea mingling with fragrant coffee. Visually and flavor-wise, the alluring “Thai Milk-Tea Pudding” is topped with Thai tea sauce and light lemon whipped cream, offering three layers of flavor. Second sister Ola is the professional barista behind the counter, while youngest sister Holy handles the baking, developing all sorts of pastries and gift boxes for the trio’s shop, including seasonal Sanqiu gift boxes such as Mid-Autumn mooncakes.
