Ji Bei Island, located approximately 5.5 kilometers north of白沙 Island, is the largest island in the northern sea area of Penghu and also a popular site for summer water activities in the region. The entire island features a high eastern and low western topography formed from coastal sediments and sand spurs, creating famous natural landscapes. The long spurs of Jibe Island were shaped by ocean currents, waves, and tides that eroded coasts and transported rock debris and gravel to suitable locations. Over time, these accumulated materials extended outward for thousands of meters, forming a long, golden sandbar. Adjacent to the turquoise coastline, the area is also adorned with green coastal vegetation. When viewed from above, the sea's color transitions gradually from light blue to deep blue, creating a stunning contrast with the golden sandbar's expanse. This scenery attracts numerous tourists for water-based recreation.
Jibe Island is also known as the home of fish traps, with around 80 traditional stone fish trap structures built around its periphery. This represents one-seventh of Penghu County's total. The Jibe Fish Trap Cultural Museum, located beside the visitor service center, showcases Jibe's unique fish trap culture. The museum divides into two sections: an outdoor fish trap art area and an indoor exhibition area, utilizing diverse formats to highlight the cultural heritage. Visitors to Jibe Island are warmly encouraged to visit the museum to enrich their travel experience.
