Taihua Kiln was founded in 1983. From kiln-firing techniques, form innovation, glaze research and development, and porcelain-painting skills, to exhibition-hall design and even industrial business models and strategies, it has always upheld the spirit of breaking through the status quo and creating without cease, tempering its own style and shaping the “Taihua Kiln” brand. In 1995 it established a painters’ research studio, sharing its glaze and kiln-firing technologies with artists engaged in porcelain painting in an open spirit, providing equipment and support for mutual discussion and refinement, advancing the realm of porcelain-painting art. In 1999 it set up the Taihua Art Center, a professional exhibition hall year-round for the porcelain-painting achievements of these artists, becoming a cultural environment for the appreciation and enjoyment of painted porcelain. With superb glaze and firing craftsmanship Taihua Kiln safeguards the boundless creativity and ultimate aesthetics of porcelain-painting artists, leading the fashion in the world of painted porcelain. It then fuses the aesthetic elements of porcelain-painting art with the practical functions of daily-use ceramics, deepening the artistic content of household wares, adding artistic taste to life, and showcasing the creative energy and refined, solid craftsmanship of Taiwan’s local industry. Designated by the Presidential Office as the kiln for producing state-gift porcelain, it has earned an honor akin to the ancient imperial “official kilns,” and is even called the “Yingge Palace Museum,” making it an international-level ceramics brand in Yingge District that has won numerous international design awards.
