I have a dream: to freely pursue my ideals. I have a wish: to possess boundless wisdom and creativity, to create my own space. I have a commitment: to play a role of inheritance and work in my own culture. And I am a traditional Amis woman, with a kind heart, always eager to help others. At one point, I developed a mysterious interest in traditional weaving that I couldn’t resist. Weaving in Amis traditional life is an important cultural symbol. It is the beautiful epithet of the Amis and represents the wisdom passed down from our ancestors. Inheritance is a heavy duty; it is also a responsibility, a promise to our ancestors and a reminder to future generations. Only through continual inheritance can we achieve high-quality works. From traditional fabric weaving to moon peach weaving, I found its beauty and realized that the wisdom of the Amis is truly awe‑inspiring. As a carrier of traditional crafts, I believe attitude determines everything. I will continue to exert myself so that Amis culture can flourish. Although the Amis have a matrilineal social structure, it remains a very rigorous society. Ethics, harmony, and the maintenance of tradition are still the key elements that uphold Amis culture.
