Longfeng Waterfall is located in Qingshui Village, Zhongliao Township. Originally named “Male-and-Female Waterfall,” it splits into two side-by-side tiers: one rushes with a thunderous, majestic force, while the other trickles in gentle, graceful strands. During his tenure as provincial governor, former Vice President Hsieh Tung-min was so struck by the scenic beauty that he praised the falls’ grandeur and the perfect balance of vigor and delicacy, renaming them “Longfeng (Dragon-Phoenix) Waterfall.”
At the end of a winding path and bridge, the water plunges into the pool with a roar like thunder; the vertical column of spray carries a cool mist, and standing nearby feels like receiving nature’s own baptism. The walk to the falls passes beneath a canopy of trees; the scent of forest phytoncides and the ceaseless rush of water revive weary spirits. Longfeng offers dense mountain greenery and the freshness of flowing streams—a delight for lovers of both heights and waters. For an outing to discover Zhongliao’s hidden gem, bring friends or family and roam together in search of its serene wonders.
