The Beimen District has a lagoon ecosystem, which contains a rich variety of fish, shrimp, shellfish, and mangrove landscapes. Many herons, water birds, mudskippers, and various crabs can be found here, making it a charming destination for eco-tourism. What draws the most attention is the black-bellied tern that visits from October to April every year. As the sun sets, large groups of black-bellied terns gather and fly in the sky, forming different team patterns according to the wind direction, which is quite spectacular. The Kuaigang mangrove forest used to grow extensively in the marshland of the Beimen lagoon area on the west side of Beimen Village. However, with the development of new land and the construction of fish ponds, numerous oyster racks can be seen inserted into the lagoon, forming another unique coastal landscape. Under the policy of the Tainan government to fully restore the mangrove forest, a 6-hectare Kuaigang mangrove forest has grown at the estuary of the Daciangang Drainage System on the south side of the lagoon. The Kuaigang mangrove forest in the Beimen lagoon area with more silt at the exit of the Jishui Creek has also bred again, and water spinach has been introduced and planted. At these two sites, mangrove protected areas have been set up to amaze tourists with a green ecological landscape.
