Lishan Farmers' Square_Lishan Park

2021-03-10
Arriving at Leishan Farmer’s Square in Nangang, one can see the square floor inlaid with lines from the Northern Song Dynasty literary giant—Su Shi’s *"Ding Fengbo"* (“Ode to the Storm”), exuding a literary ambiance. Originally, this site was an academy during the Japanese colonial era, where local students studied until a landslide destroyed it and it fell into disuse for decades. The Water and Soil Conservation Division integrated the restoration of the previously collapsed area into an agricultural community environment improvement initiative, incorporating Japanese-style pavilions, bald cypress trees, and rock garden elements to evoke the early academy's essence, creating a uniquely styled leisure square.

Opposite Leishan Farmer's Square lies Four-Fen Creek, renowned for its successful fish protection efforts. Visitors can also stroll along the heart-shaped stepping stones and streamside paths, listening to the gentle stream flow and enjoying the bald cypress scenery. This is an ideal weekend destination to experience the secluded beauty of the bald cypress and the romantic atmosphere of the heart-shaped stepping stones. For those interested in the story behind Four-Fen Creek’s fish protection, we warmly invite you to contact the Jiuru Community Development Association to arrange an ecological tour, immersing yourself in nature and a joyful educational journey.
