The Huoyan Mountain Forest Ecological Education Center is a three-story above-ground and two-story below-ground landscape building that showcases the unique natural features of Huoyan Mountain in its exterior and interior design. The center is located in the administrative center of Sanliao Township, Miaoli County, and was officially opened on April 16, 2005. Since August 2009, it has been operated and managed by the "Pingtung University Biodiversity Research Center" commissioned by the Forestry Bureau's Hsinchu Forest District Management Office. The center aims to combine its existing display facilities with high-quality curriculum planning to provide a teaching venue for the general public and schools to learn about Taiwan's geological landscape and forest ecology. It also serves as an intellectual attraction for tourists visiting Miaoli, raising awareness about environmental conservation and encouraging public participation in conservation efforts, ultimately achieving the goal of sustainable environmental education.
