Sunset‑Long Glamping Site, 2nd‑floor scenic restaurant and 1st‑floor café are temporarily closed as of January 31, 2025, for maintenance and enjoyment upgrades. ◼️Ecological Experience Center – Circular Theater, Interactive Experience Zone, and Ecological Education Center ◼️View the sunset at Gaomei and the wind turbines, star‑watching at night To prevent large crowds and traffic from damaging the local landscape and ecosystem, the Taichung City Government’s Construction Bureau spent over two years building the “Gaomei Wetland Visitor Service Center.” Occupying approximately 8.4 hectares, the center includes two parking lots—Lot 68 and Lot 69—capable of holding 27 large buses, 568 small cars, and 205 motorcycles. The Visitor Service Center itself is a two‑story building with a sloping, spiral‑shaped exterior, resembling waves rising from the ground. The second floor hosts an observation platform where guests can enjoy the sunset at Gaomei, the wind turbines, and stargazing at night. The outdoor plaza features tidal‑crab and shell‑shaped installation art and an outdoor ecological pond for photo‑opportunities and close‑up wetland observation. In addition to providing tourist information and guided services, the center also offers an “Ecological Experience Hall” for visitors to gain deeper, more comprehensive wetland and ecological knowledge. The center also has a dining area and a cultural‑creative goods section, and it periodically hosts concerts, ecological lectures, and other events. Through this diversified, multi‑functional model, the center delivers a more comfortable and convenient experience for travelers and leisure seekers. **Site Highlights** The ecological experience hall inside the visitor center is divided into a circular theater, interactive experience zone, and ecological education center. Upon entering the circular theater, visitors immediately feel the impact of the 360‑degree projection. The theater displays the beauty of Gaomei Wetland throughout the four seasons and the day‑night cycle, with each scene fully showcasing the unique magical landscape of the wetland. The interactive experience zone begins with the “Wetland Knowledge Wall” at the entrance, giving visitors an overview of global wetlands and migratory bird routes. It then introduces the history of Gaomei Wetland and the animals and plants that inhabit it. A unique feature is the “Gaomei Tides” technology that allows visitors to experience a sunset at Gaomei even on cloudy days. The “Wetland Plants,” “Crab‑Dance,” and “Flying High” sections are especially popular with children. Three interactive games designed with motion‑sensing devices help children form a lasting impression of wetland ecology. Visitors can also leave their own “Gaomei Memory Map” with friends and family! At the exit, the ecological education center schedules various ecological lectures and activities from time to time. The ecological experience hall conveys accurate wetland knowledge through diverse methods, aiming to plant the seed of “Wetland sustainable use requires our protection” in visitors’ hearts. To respond to the unique natural environment located 20 m from the coast at the Sunset‑Long Glamping Site, a one‑night‑two‑meal accommodation experience is offered, combined with the rich resources surrounding the Gaomei Wetland Visitor Service Center. This provides ecological experience courses that deeply explore blue‑carbon ecosystems. Fresh local ingredients are delivered straight from the source. At the 2nd floor of the visitor service center, the “Tide Island Restaurant” offers unbeatable sea views, and on the 1st floor, the “Slightly Tipsy Little Sunset” vegetarian‑wine café serves creative dishes with strong local character. This creates the perfect luxurious glamping destination for families and parent‑child travel. Sunset‑Long IG https://www.instagram.com/slowlysunsetglamp/
