Xikou Beiji Palace front's Xikou meat dumplings were founded in 1976, by the original shop owner Mr. Sun Zhongde. In order to master the art of making meat dumplings, he worked hard and raised 30,000 NTD to apprentice in Xin Gang. As he aged, the business was passed on to his second-generation son, Mr. Sun Jiangming.
This nearly 45‑year‑old shop produces meat dumplings with a chewy exterior and hearty filling. The sauce is made by simmering glutinous rice with sugar, and it tastes even better when paired with a bowl of the shop's kelp soup.
