Alishan was originally one of Taiwan's three major forest areas, and later it was developed into a national forest recreation area. Walking along the shaded paths lined with ancient towering trees, you can breathe in the fresh air and listen to the chirping of birds. Every year, during the flowering season, the entire mountain is filled with a vibrant and colorful sea of flowers. Alishan's forest resources cover different climate zones. Starting from the tropical plants such as longan, betel nut, acacia tree, and kou竹林 at the flat area, the landscape changes to the warm belt forest of Mengzong bamboo, high mountain tea plantations and love jade children as you ascend. Further up, in the temperate forest, you can see cypress, Taiwan flat cedar, Huashan pine, Taiwan fir and red cypress.
