Autumn and winter are the best seasons to enjoy the sea of clouds. Within the Alishan National Forest Recreation Area, the prime spots for viewing the sea of clouds are the observation deck beside Alishan Museum, Alishan Hotel, Alishan Railway Station, Zhaoping Park, Jirokaku Observation Deck, and the areas around the entrance and transfer station. Along Alishan Highway, places such as Xiding, Dingshi Zhuo, and the 89.5K mark on the way to Zizhong are also worth visiting.
