新北市坪林區金瓜寮17號
Pinglin is a renowned tea-growing region in northern Taiwan, rich in natural resources. Here, a Japanese-era “Jinxi Station” from the colonial period now serves as the local police station; with a century of history, it is a must-see for every visitor walking the Jingualiao Creek trail to admire fish and ferns. During the Japanese administration, the station was established to maintain public order, collect taxes, and monitor potential insurgents, and it has stood for a hundred years. Now transformed into a private residence, the former Jinxi Station has only shifted its once road-facing entrance slightly to the left; its stone brickwork, black tiles, and architectural form remain authentically Japanese, exuding a rustic charm that still faintly conveys the imposing atmosphere of its days as a police outpost.
