By the time you arrive at Chenggong University, don't miss "Victory Breakfast" beside the campus, which serves Shandong-style scallion pancakes. Typically, scallion pancakes have a thin layer of scallions sprinkled on top; however, Victory's version has a generous filling of fresh scallions inside, encased in a crispy exterior. When you take a bite, the scallion aroma fills your mouth. This recipe was learned from a Shandong friend by the owner, Lin Chang-hsiung. Each pancake costs just NT$15 and has been a comfort food for many Chenggong University students for decades. Victory Breakfast operates from 4 pm daily to 10 am the next day. Besides scallion pancakes, their pork and egg pancake is also recommended. This dish features a traditional egg pancake wrapped around lettuce and a pork burger patty, making it tender and delicious. Nearly everything at Victory Breakfast is tasty.
