新北市平溪區中華街12號
Pingxi Station is located in Lingjiao Village, Pingxi District, and is a station on the Taiwan Railways Pingxi Line. Originally named "Taiyang Mining Company Shidixian Line", it was initially used as a dedicated railway for coal transportation. Later, due to the closure of coal mines, the local population gradually decreased, and the Pingxi Line was almost facing the fate of being abolished. After local people actively strived to preserve it, it was retained and is now gradually becoming popular again due to the sky lantern activity. Although Pingxi Station is a simple station, it has a long history and is surrounded by beautiful scenery. The quiet Pingxi mountain city is ideal for listening to the sound of the train tracks and strolling along the creek path to enjoy the beauty of nature. In the early days, it was called "Shidi Station". If you head towards Jingtong Station, you will pass through an iron bridge that spans across the San Kong Xi creek. Looking down from the bridge, you can see the Pingxi and Shidi settlements. As you exit the station, you will be on Zhonghua Street, and walking down the gentle slope, you will reach the intersection with Pingxi Street, which is the old street. The station is geographically located between Pingxi and Lingjiao, sitting high above, with the Keelung River below. The old tree at the entrance has branches filled with birds foraging for food, and if you're lucky, you can see them diving and hunting with their swift flying movements.
