The Forestry Office located in Jinjiang Town, Kinmen, is a green scenic spot in the Kinmen area. It is said that in the early days, Kinmen was a place with lush vegetation. However, when Zheng Chenggong of the Ming Dynasty captured Kinmen, he cut down a large number of trees on the island for the construction of basic facilities, which eventually turned Kinmen into a barren and treeless land. Later, in 1951, the government, in an effort to improve this harsh environment, initiated greening policies and afforestation projects on Kinmen. After several failures and improvements, they finally overcame all difficulties, laying the foundation for Kinmen's greening and improving the living environment of the military and civilians. The current Forestry Office in Kinmen covers about 36 hectares. It was originally a small path nursery, directly under the Kinmen County Government, responsible for experiments and research promotion in agricultural crops, seedling cultivation, afforestation, and animal husbandry. The park has areas such as the lawn square, tourist nursery, flower garden, water area, specimen area, forestry exhibition hall, children's recreation area, and barbecue area. There is also a 500-meter-long pine tree avenue, with a very beautiful environment, making it an ideal place for people of all ages to enjoy nature and have fun. In addition, there are many eye-catching and photogenic installations in the Forestry Office, such as large wooden horses, colorful chairs, and Dutch windmills, allowing visitors to take beautiful photos with the plants and trees while enjoying the greenery and creating wonderful memories. The Forestry Office also has a children's indoor happy paradise - the Wood Education Interactive Learning Hall, which is hidden among the trees like a secret base, offering a comfortable space with more than 20 kinds of wooden board games, and a large traditional house model for children to work together to build, thus learning about traditional houses and improving their concentration through play!
