Chen Qiu-ju, a skilled artisan who has lived in Chi-shang for twenty years and specializes in handmade soap, began her journey into environmental conservation by thinking about how to recycle waste oil from school lunches. Her mission has been to make her community more eco-friendly, healthier, and suitable for future generations. With this vision, she dived into creating handmade soap. Qiu-ju has invested significant effort and self-funded her studies, transforming waste into eco-friendly soap, as well as creating daily cleaning products like shower gel and laundry detergent. As she crafted her handmade soap, she thought about how to connect and develop local characteristics. She infused her soap with the rich products and essence of the Hua-tung Longitudinal Valley, carefully crafting each soap to suit different skin types.
