At the junction of three counties, the unobstructed sea of clouds lies at Yunling Ridge on the border of Yunlin, Chiayi, and Nantou. Not only does an art sculpture point toward the three counties, the viewing platform also offers a 360-degree panorama, taking in sunrise, an endless sea of clouds, and mountain tea gardens. Around noon, mist curls through the air, creating an other-worldly atmosphere—perfect for early risers starting their day with the sunrise. Yunling Ridge spans Yunlin, Chiayi, and Nantou counties at an elevation of roughly 1,650 m, providing a superb new vantage point for sunrise, sunset, and cloud-sea vistas; wisps of fog and dancing mountain mists often roll upward, and each season brings its own cloud formations. On the summit’s triangular survey-marker sun-viewing terrace, a human-shaped sculpture faces the three counties, cleverly marking the spot where Yunlin, Chiayi, and Nantou meet.
