The Shetou Azalea Boulevard in Shetou Township, Changhua County, is a 1.9-kilometer green tunnel. Once an ordinary country lane, it was transformed by the township office, which planted thousands of azaleas and Indian almonds along the roadside. After years of cultivation, the boulevard has become one of Shetou’s most famous attractions. Every March the azaleas burst into bloom, carpeting the road in red, white, and pink blossoms and creating a spectacular floral scene. After the azaleas fade, the Indian almonds bloom, turning the boulevard into a tunnel of golden rain with a charm all its own.
