Step out of the car and Shiba Inus, black cats, and laying hens trot up to greet you, utterly fearless; years of visitors have trained them to mingle with humans. Besides chickens, the farm keeps goats and geese, all free-range, so the hens lay fresh, nutrient-rich eggs used in-house for baking—resulting in unusually delicious desserts. Operated as an eco-farm, Yong’an 61 targets families with children. The caramel latte and floating iced coffee are the bestsellers, while pastries are made with seasonal produce—winter specialties are strawberry cake and double-layer pumpkin pie. Handmade cookies, another signature treat, are moderately sweet and rich with egg aroma; every bite proves only real ingredients are used.
