The main attractions in Zhaoping include Zhaoping Station, Zhaoping Park (also known as Natural Park), and the logging machine (pillar). The starting point of the Guanzhu Mountain Sunrise Trail is also in Zhaoping. It takes about 40 minutes to reach Guanzhu Mountain Station. The open area next to Zhaoping Station is Zhaoping Park. Initially, it was planned as a natural park. Later, it was repositioned as Zhaoping Park considering its humanistic and historical value. The park is filled with various alpine plants, such as mountain cherry blossoms, Oshima cherry, Prunus grayana, Rhododendron morii, Wisteria floribunda, Malus formosana, Chaenomeles speciosa, Sorbaria sorbifolia, Malus domestica, Cornus controversa, Viburnum carlesii, Hydrangea, Iris japonica, Cytisus, and Aster. In early spring, the park is full of spring colors. It is a famous spot for flower appreciation in the recreational area. In autumn, the park is decorated with changing leaves of Acer formosum, and the scenery of red leaves makes tourists intoxicated. In the past, every forest logging site in Taiwan had a steam logging machine. After Alishan Forest Farm ended its direct logging operation in 1967, many tools were auctioned off. At that time, the logging machine here was sold and destroyed at a price of NT$10,000 as scrap iron. After the national forest recreation area was established, in order to display the steam logging machine, it was purchased from Lincuo, Hualien and placed here for display.
