苗栗縣後龍鎮明山路180號
The Dashi Station was opened on October 11, 1922, during the Taisho era, and was originally named "Dashi Station" or "大山腳驛" in Chinese. At that time, the area around the station had continuous sand dunes, which were suitable for growing watermelons. During the Japanese colonial period, the station was mainly used for transporting rice. The building's exterior and interior design reflect the social and historical context of the time, making it one of the few remaining examples of a wooden station building with a mix of Western and Japanese architectural styles in Taiwan. It is a typical example of a small railway station from the Japanese colonial period. However, due to the steep slope of the mountain railway line at that time, transportation efficiency was limited. In view of this, the Haishan railway line was completed and opened on October 10, 1922 (the 11th year of the Taisho era).
