Since the Nalu Bay Indigenous People's Market started operating in 1997, it has provided Indigenous people with opportunities to engage in micro-enterprise economic activities by renting stalls. Due to the nature of the market's location, Indigenous people have found it difficult to break through the business bottlenecks. This association has attempted to plan and combine the concepts of tourism villages workshops and social enterprises. By using the traditional cultural knowledge and unique craftsmanship of the Indigenous people as the core, it has planned a village workshop with tourism factory-like presentation formats, including actual production areas, DIY interactive experience teaching areas, and other tourism facilities and service elements. Through flexible business strategies, rich presentation of business space, on-site sense of the production line, and educational promotion activities, it aims to make the cultural vitality of the products and services touch consumers, forming a market differentiation, thereby finding opportunities to create economic value. Through training and guidance of Indigenous women and elderly people in the community, it provides employment opportunities, and implements the social welfare work of Indigenous people.
The main business items of the Owl Cultural Creativity Village Workshop are in six categories:
(1) Owl Cultural Ecology Museum: Owl ecological tour guide, DIY experience teaching.
(2) Urban Area Village Workshop: Glass bead production line, traditional craftsmanship inheritance, DIY experience teaching.
(3) Small Cultural Creativity Exhibition Center: Indigenous flavor souvenirs, cultural creativity product sales center.
(4) Coffee Food Art and Culture Center: Indigenous singer performances on weekends and holidays, Indigenous art gallery exhibitions.
(5) Indigenous Skills Training Classroom: Talent cultivation, providing employment opportunities for Indigenous people in the urban area.
(6) Indigenous Cultural Creativity Exchange Service Center.
The operating vision of the Owl Cultural Creativity Village Workshop is to enhance the energy of Indigenous people's industry reconstruction, create a platform for the inheritance of traditional skills, promote Indigenous cultural seed empowerment and talent cultivation, and implement ecological conservation work. This association hopes to enhance the economic momentum of the Indigenous industry by activating and improving the market space, creating a high-quality sales platform for Indigenous industries with more presentation and competitiveness. It aims to guide the Indigenous people to broaden their business perspectives, establish a model for upgrading the Indigenous industry, and by showcasing the local materials and overall atmosphere of the village, the on-site sense of the production line, and the hands-on experience in the DIY area, deepen the interaction between visitors and the historical and cultural aspects of the Indigenous people, facilitate horizontal connections among ethnic groups, and demonstrate the rich vitality of a diverse society.
