新北市土城區永寧路68巷
Hidden along Yongning Road in Tucheng District lies a secret place: the “Indigenous Ecological Park.” Once the site of the Haishan Coal Mine, it thrived in the 1970s on rich mineral deposits, with many Indigenous people forming the backbone of the mining workforce. Leaving their hometowns behind, they came to Tucheng to labor, and their stories as miners still echo here. In 1993 the area was designated Indigenous reserve land, and in 2005 it was transformed into an ecological park. Inside are landscaped footpaths, ecological ponds, Indigenous wooden pavilions, ancestral spirit houses, and other Indigenous-themed facilities. Centered on Indigenous culture and natural ecology, the park offers diverse Indigenous-themed spaces. Planning prioritizes natural ecosystems, preserving the original mountain wilderness. Amenities include resting areas, ecological ponds, scenic trails, and Indigenous wooden pavilions.
