To commemorate the fierce 1895 Battle of Baxian Mountain Resistance Against Japanese Forces, Changhua County Government has specially developed a new recreational theme for the Baxian Mountain Buddha Scenic Area with the concept of a war history site campus. Through compact exhibition spaces, the historical memory of the military confrontation on Baxian Mountain is revived. By redeveloping and revitalizing existing spatial features and landscapes within the campus, including air-raid shelters long sealed for years, exhibition halls have been partitioned to interpret the First Sino-Japanese War (1894-1895), the 1895 Taiwan-Japanese War (Battle of Baxian Mountain), utilizing panels, audiovisual equipment, and unique spatial effects within tunnels to create an immersive, intense atmosphere of war, heightening visitors' on-site experience of war history. The exhibition space enables public to physically experience the air-raid shelters as if fleeing wartime conditions, stepping into historical scenarios to personally feel the tension of Japanese forces silently crossing the river southward in dark hours of the night, to reflect deeply on war's meaning and consequences. The exhibition is located behind the "Changhua County Library".
