Zhongzheng Road in Chiayi City, once called “Er Tong” during the Japanese era, was a thriving street for north-south trade. The 71-year-old Er Tong old house, a Japanese-period “plank house,” offers a simple wooden space where fair-trade rainforest coffee and safe produce from Taiwan’s small farmers carry on the same sincere spirit as the original timber, continuing to spread warmth.
