高雄市阿蓮區二仁溪旁
Originating from Shanzhulake in Muzha Village, Neimen District, Kaohsiung, Erren Creek serves as the boundary river between Kaohsiung and Tainan. From the 1970s to 2000, the middle reaches of Erren Creek became a hub clustered with factories specializing in scrap metal recycling and refining, while the upper reaches were surrounded by pig farms and poultry breeding facilities, rendering the creek water foul-smelling, dark, and highly polluted—reaching the highest pollution level across the entire island. Since large-scale remediation began in 2001, Erren Creek has gradually regained vitality. The district office has established two viewpoints, Waoan and Changlu, as well as a waterfront park within the territory of Alin District. Facilities include a wild small plant observation area, camping area, and artificial lake; aside from wooden boardwalks, the creek banks mostly retain their original natural landscape. Aquatic plants provide habitats for birds, animals, and plants. Observing the full scenery of Erren Creek reveals lush greenery and serene, picturesque landscapes at a glance. The Erren Creek Waterfront Park is an excellent destination for families to enjoy spring outings and birdwatching, and it also stands as a prime testament to ecological restoration.
