Stepping through the countless bygone days of Baolong Paper Mill, the nostalgic Linnei Old Village Office is surrounded by pulp tanks cloaked in emerald vines and a vast iron shed; beneath blue skies and green fields they seem to recount the past and present of the local paper industry. In recent years the mill has combined AR technology to create an app that lets visitors relive its former splendor, the glory of yesteryear appearing as if before one’s eyes. Once the administrative center of Linnei Township during the Japanese era, the office building in the park—Linnei Old Village Office (formerly the Mitsubishi Paper Mill office)—was built in 1911 and stands 106 years old; the structure has long borne historical significance tied to the papermaking industry.
