The Shishino Shrine is located in the Ryutai Village of Shishino Township. It was funded by the Taitung Sugar Company and jointly built by Japanese immigrants of Shishino Village through mandatory labor, and relocated to its current site in Showa Year 6 (1931). After World War II, the original shrine buildings were demolished, leaving only the foundation. Although the foundation was also originally planned for removal, local residents actively advocated preserving local history starting in 2013. They ultimately succeeded in inviting a specialist shrine restoration master from Japan, who worked together with Taiwanese carpenters to rebuild the shrine on site, completing the work in 2015. Standing atop the plains, the shrine frames a quiet historical landscape rich in greenery, backed by the surrounding farmlands and hillsides. Since becoming open, it has attracted many visitors to take photos for social media check-ins. The Shishino Shrine together with the surrounding Lyutai area is located on gently sloping terrain well suited for bicycle tours. Riding bicycles while enjoying mild winds and sunshine allows visitors to also explore the Shishino Lyutai Cycling Trail and Lyutai Eco Village. They can savor freshly brewed coffee or Shishino tea, paired with dried fruits made from local produce, all while soaking in the tranquil charm of Lyutai Village.
