Ms. Shen Mei-Lu said: Originally, I was going to name my workshop after my late father's name, "Ba Sang." Not only did my father pass away at a young age, but numerous times while learning weaving I almost wanted to give up, yet I felt as if my father was silently encouraging me not to quit, enabling me to persist until today. To commemorate my father, while applying with the New Taipei City Government and hearing that the name "Ba Sang" had already been registered, I felt extremely disappointed. Later, according to someone else's suggestion, combining the pronunciation of my name "Mei-Lu" and since my workshop faces Nan Shi Creek and the common Chinese saying "favored by water," we added the "water" radical to come up with the name "Mei-Lu" used today.
