高雄市美濃區永安路212號
Established in late 2015, the "Mengong Cultural and Creative Center" is situated on Yong'an Old Street, the area's oldest street in Mengong. Within the site, tall old *Flueggea cenia* trees (*Scindapsus*) sway gently, their lush foliage providing shade. The architectural complex encompasses three distinct thematic zones, an innovative integration of historical buildings and a reborn cultural base. The "Mengong Police Substation," constructed in 1902, is a Baroque-style historical building blending Eastern and Western architectural elements. After years of restoration, it now serves as a multifunctional tourism service center, where visitors can freely appreciate the timeless aesthetics of the structure and experience Hakka culture. The small-sized "Japanese-style residence house" was transformed into a daycare center, while the newly built Education and Cultural Center houses a vast collection of books for reading and even features a dedicated section devoted to Six Stacks (Liu Dui) Hakka-themed literature for public research. Connecting these three old and new buildings is the "Kaihuang Square," which regularly hosts diverse innovative art and cultural events, theatrical music performances, and Hakka markets. In addition, the Creative Center invites artists to hold residency programs, thereby preserving and promoting Hakka culture. The Mengong district has long been a place of outstanding natural beauty and a vibrant artistic and cultural environment, and is a central hub of Hakka culture. The fusion of tradition and modernity at the Cultural Center not only witnesses Mengong's historical evolution but has also become an important new site for experiencing and understanding Hakka culture.
