The Green Bamboo Culture Park was established by the Green Bamboo Producers Cooperative. This cooperative is a non-profit organization (NPO) formed by the joint efforts of bamboo farmers, bamboo-industry workers, and other stakeholders. In 1997, witnessing the exodus of Taiwan’s bamboo industry and the replacement of vast bamboo forests by tea plantations, the cooperative was founded to prevent the decline of the bamboo sector. The creation of the Green Bamboo Culture Park vertically integrates the development and operation of the bamboo industry, uniting the ecological, productive, lifestyle, creative, landscape, and educational functions of bamboo in one place. It is a distinctive park that combines recreation, ecological conservation, local industry, and education. All members of the cooperative thank every bamboo enthusiast who comes to experience, participate in, and support Taiwan’s bamboo industry!
