Simplified Chinese: Worship of the Main Deity: The ceremony of the Su Fu Wang Ye was held on the 21st day of the 4th lunar month, in the 17th year of the Qing Daoguang era. The sculpture was erected in Xiamen and the shrine was established in the West Duzangwang Temple in the local village. It served as a place of worship for foreign officials who had arrived from Peng to become local dignitaries. Later, the Wang Ye manifested his divine power, and the villagers built a shrine on the appointed site. In the same year of Tongzhi XI, a female official of the local magistrate Cheng Haifang fell ill. Hearing of the Wang Ye’s spiritual influence, she prayed and received a remedy that cured her. She presented a plaque in gratitude for the divine protection. That same year, the shrine was constructed.
