台中市北區400中區綠川西街135號
The Green River New Sheng Bridge prioritizes water quality and flood control, breaking away from traditional riverbank landscape restoration approaches. It aims to create an ecological habitat that integrates low-impact development, shaping a new waterfront gateway image for Taichung Train Station. The Green River waterfront focuses on natural and artistic presentation, incorporating public art and water elements to create a dynamic, multi‑creative artistic space while blending diverse ASEAN cultural influences. By combining historic structures such as Miyahara Eye Clinic, Zhongshan Green Bridge, and the Sakura Bridge ruins, it creates a culturally rich riverside landscape, shaping a humanistic waterfront ambiance. Recalling the memories of the once shaded coast, the design features native Taiwanese tree species and overhanging shoreline plants, presenting a unique waterway space and establishing a new Green River shaded walking path. Nearby, visitors can also stroll to the Green River Water Culture and Environmental Education Center, where exhibits showcase the river’s history, documentary screenings, old photographs of the Green River, and surrounding models, providing the public with a deeper understanding of the Green River.
