澎湖县马公市澎湖縣馬公市觀音亭至張雨生故事館間
Located at Zhongzheng Hall in Xinfu Village, Magong City, the Penghu Defense Command Center was built in 1967. Originally it served as a large military conference room. Later, second‑screen movie screenings were introduced, offering low‑cost tickets to both military personnel and civilians. From the early 1950s until the late 1960s—a span of about twenty years—Zhongzheng Hall was the community’s premier recreational spot. Young people would meet there for dates and movie nights, while elders regarded it as an ideal place for gatherings and conversations. The welfare station inside, coupled with street vendors hustling before and after the screenings, turned the hall into a paradise for village children. Behind the hall, a sun‑watching platform was recently constructed. Here one finds greater tranquility and expansive views of the coastline and intertidal zone. From this viewpoint you can watch the sea, the sunset, and even see the Xiying Rainbow Bridge from different angles—without the crowds that gather at the Guanyin Pavilion to watch the sunset. The sun‑watching platform at Zhongzheng Hall offers a unique, serene experience, bringing you closer to the ocean and the evening sky. Next to the platform lies a grassy area with bronze statues of young Pan Anbang and his grandmother. Under the development of the Magong Cultural City, Zhongzheng Hall is positioned as an arts and culture performance zone, aiming to host performance events and artistic industries. The goal is for Zhongzheng Hall to become a leisure and shopping destination for both visitors and residents. **Suggested stay time:** 1 hour
