澎湖縣湖西鄉北寮村奎壁山
Simplified Chinese: Kuí Bì Mountain is located on the northern shore of Penghu Hubei Liao Village, commonly known as “Turtle and Tortoise Mountain,” named for the abundant turtles and tortoises in the nearby coastal waters. Another theory is that the mountain’s shape, as seen from the sea, resembles a turtle lying by the shore, similar to how Turtle Mountain Island got its name; later the name was phonetically fixed as “Kuí Bì Mountain.” The “Kuí Bì Lianhui” of North Liao Kuí Bì is one of Penghu’s eight scenic spots. Nearby islands such as Xiao Ji Shanyu and Ding Gou Yu accompany Kuí Bì Mountain in the near sea. Facing northeast, it is an ideal spot to watch the sunrise. Compared to the well-known Kuai Ye sunrise, the sunrise at North Liao Kuí Bì Mountain is enhanced by the backdrop of the East China Sea islands above the sea surface, and with Che Island as the background, when the sunrise emerges from between Che Island’s black silhouette, the visual richness of the sunrise scene is even more outstanding. Between Kuí Bì Mountain and the uninhabited Che Island, an S-shaped gravel path is exposed at low tide, about 300 meters long, suitable for watching the sunrise. If the tide happens to match the path’s split and merge, it’s a double delight; if it’s a low tide, you can climb Che Island to enjoy the sunrise. 【Recommended stay time】 1.5 hours
