The early housekeeping class in the Nanzhuang area was established to encourage rural women to participate in second-specialty training, engage in secondary rural business operations, improve economic models, enhance the quality of agricultural products, create business opportunities, and stimulate the rural economy. Under the guidance of the Executive Yuan’s Council of Agriculture, with the assistance of the Miaoli County Government, the Miaoli County Farmers’ Association, the Miaoli District Agricultural Improvement Station, and the Nanzhuang Township Farmers’ Association, a housekeeping class was formed within the village. Because it is not far from the old street, it became a restaurant beloved by both tourists and local friends. The humid climate of Nanzhuang has produced many fresh local specialties such as mountain trout, bamboo shoots, and wood ear mushrooms. After many years, with the local fresh ingredients and continually improving cooking techniques, it has evolved into a renowned Nanzhuang specialty restaurant. Thus, the secret to the deliciousness of the housekeeping class restaurant lies in fresh, high-quality ingredients. Through years of dedicated management, it has become popular not only with tourists but also with local residents of Nanzhuang who choose the housekeeping class for their meals.
