Located in the central coastal wetlands of Changhua County and rarely disturbed by human activity, the area offers an excellent wintering environment for migratory birds—up to 160 species come here to feed and spend the winter. Fiddler crabs dart in and out of the soft sand, which glints darkly under the gentle winter sun, tempting visitors to slip off shoes and socks and walk barefoot through the shallows and mud, a cool freshness rising from the soles of the feet. Shellfish, crabs, clams, oysters, tiny fish, and other creatures keep popping up in a game of hide-and-seek, letting you experience the playful charm of the wetland.
