The Dongshi Hakka Cultural Park was converted from Dongshi’s old railway station to showcase Hakka culture and has become one of the signature sights along the Dongfeng Bikeway. The park, renovated from the disused waiting-room of the former station, is outwardly styled in Hakka architecture and displays Hakka artefacts inside, hosting rotating exhibitions. The grounds are arranged around themes of Hakka food, clothing, housing, transport, education and recreation, introducing local industry, language and cultural traits. The nostalgic Hakka architecture blends with the old station; step through the deliberately preserved iron gate and you stand on the platform, where every brick and tile seems to hold memories of the past. Behind the cultural park lies the Dongfeng Green Corridor cycle path, a lush greenway with distant mountain views.
