"Dongfeng Bicycle Greenway (0k–13.6k)" is covered by public-accident liability insurance. Formerly called the Dongfeng Railway, also known as the Dongshi Branch Line, the Dongfeng Bicycle Greenway was built in 1958 as one of the mountain-line spurs of Taiwan Railways, running through Fengyuan, Shigang, and Dongshi. At the time, red cypress, Taiwan cypress, and fir from the Dongshi area needed to be shipped out; materials for the Shigang Dam were also hauled in, and local farmers moved well over 100,000 metric tons of produce. Thus the Dongfeng Railway came into being, and for residents along the line it remains a living memory. Since its opening on 15 November 2000, the Dongfeng Bicycle Greenway has become a new weekend retreat for the greater Taichung region. Along the route, visitors will find the Shigang Dam, the Dongshi Hakka Cultural Park, rich ecology, and scenic architecture, offering families, couples, and school field-trips a wealth of itinerary options. Cycling here lets travelers relax in close contact with nature. Dongfeng Bicycle Greenway route: Start → Green Love Wooden-Clog Painting Hall → Pozi Station → Shigang Dam & 921 Earthquake Park (branch) → Shigang Granary (branch) → Zero-Egg Platform → Visitor Center → Jiufang Fairy-Tale 3D Painted Village → Lover’s Wooden Bridge, Shishuikou Leisure Farm & Five-Blessing Sacred Tree (branch) → Century-Old Mango Tree → Meizi Station → Dongfeng Railway Bridge → Dongshi Forestry Culture Park.
