Yangcheng, located in Tainan, has been around for sixty years. Situated in a small alley on Zhongzheng Road, it specializes in Cantonese cuisine. The restaurant is famous for its dishes such as sweet and sour spare ribs, mapo tofu, yam paste with crispy duck, scallion爆 beef, cashew shrimp, and its signature braised chicken. The food is so delicious that it will leave a lasting impression. Especially the braised chicken, cooked with a special technique, has a slightly red bone, which might seem intimidating at first, but it's actually a sign of an authentic dish. The chicken is cooked using a method that's half-steamed and half-braised, bringing out the natural sweetness of the meat. Even the breast meat is tender and not greasy, making it a must-try.
