In the 1960s, Tung-Ho began by manufacturing wooden television cabinets. At that time, television was the main source of family entertainment, and the sliding doors could even be locked, showing how precious it was. Later, through a cross-national collaboration between China and Japan, Tung-Ho started on the path of making musical instruments, and became the agent for Japanese Kawai pianos and Suzuki instruments. Beginning with its first piano, it went on to produce recorders, melodicas, and harmonicas, allowing parents to purchase them at affordable prices and making a significant contribution to the popularization of music in the country. In 2007, the Tung-Ho Music Experience Hall was established. By touring the piano production line and offering DIY projects for recorders, harmonicas, and piano models, visiting children can understand the structure and sound-producing principles, and through various explanations, gain knowledge about musical instruments. In addition, the Tung-Ho Music Experience Hall features a sound experience area, an environmental experience area, an antique piano area, a piano dissection area, and more. Through flat and three-dimensional displays, it reveals every detail of the piano inside and out, making it fresh, interesting, and educational. Environmental education begins with listening to the sounds of the environment. Tung-Ho is one of the few tourist factories to have received the Environmental Education Label. It awakens people to use their ears and hearts to experience the sounds of the environment in daily life; pleasant sounds can be appreciated, and noise is also transformed into a positive demand for soundscape design, beautifying society.
