Built in 1812, Fuhai Temple is grand in scale; the temple square stands two flagpoles. Behind the right side lies Fuhai Park, while a well called “Dragon Spring Well” sits in front of the right corner. Its clear, sweet water quenches thirst and is believed to keep people safe. On the 23rd day of the third lunar month, Mazu’s birthday, devotees come in reverent worship, and opera performances to thank the gods turn the day into a grand occasion.
